Geely’s Fifth-Generation Emgrand Makes Global Debut

On October 11 at 19:00, Geely Auto held a design analysis and technology launch event for the fifth-generation Emgrand in Hangzhou.

The Geely Emgrand first entered the market in 2009 with its first generation. Since then, new generations have been released every three to five years. Now, 16 years later, the fifth-generation Emgrand has officially launched.

This vehicle symbolizes the comprehensive rise of Chinese domestic brands. While previously only SUVs could challenge joint-venture brands, the Emgrand enabled Chinese sedans to gain recognition, ultimately creating today’s vibrant and diverse automotive landscape.

The Emgrand has been well-received by customers both domestically and internationally, with global cumulative sales exceeding 4 million units.

The fifth-generation Emgrand features comprehensive size increases, with a wheelbase reaching 2,755 mm, providing genuinely spacious interior room. It’s now equipped with a 1.5T engine delivering 181 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. The infotainment system uses Flyme Auto, and with its eye-catching exterior design, it’s more than just a “small Xingrui” – at the very least, it’s a “compact AMG.”
